Fraudsters are targeting service providers

The department of Public Works and Infrastructure warns ALL service providers about a scam, wherein unscrupulous people use the name of the Minister, Deputy Minister, Director-General and other officials of the department to invite service providers to deliver large amounts of goods to various departmental buildings.

The fraudsters use the departmental logo and the South African flag on the fraudulent invite to service providers. They also use what looks like the departmental physical and email addresses in their act of confusing potential victims.

Members of the public are informed that the Minister, Deputy Minister and the Director-General are not in any way involved in tender processes.

They are also urged to verify the authenticity of any request for services with the following departmental officials;
