Brief Description of the Branch

The Branch Inner City Regeneration and Project Management in Department of Public Works is responsible for managing and delivering the building Programme of the Department with an annual book value of R4bn, and further ensure continuous development of norms and standards for construction of government facilities.

The building program consists of various programs namely Capital Projects, Planned Maintenance Projects, Dolomite Risk Management Projects, Management of plant operation & Maintenance of Water and sewerage Contracts in Prisons, Border Posts, and Military Bases. Specific and special program includes City of Tshwane Regeneration whereby DPW is in partnership with the City with an aim of retaining Head Offices of National Departments within the Capital City.

The Branch is currently expanding inner city regeneration into other cities and small rural towns with the sole aim of facilitating accommodation for government departments seeking to avail access to government services within a close proximity.

The Branch appoints professionals within the built industry in the area of architecture, engineering, quantity surveying, town planning, and project managers to deliver construction projects on behalf of government and to advise on all construction related challenges.
