Public Works and Infrastructure Minister, Dean Macpherson, participated as panel member in the discussion on Expropriation Act at the NAMPO Agricultural Exhibition held in Bothaville, Free State. The panel discussion brought together agricultural leaders and stakeholders to deliberate on the Expropriation Act’s implications for land reform, property rights and sustainable development in the farming sector.

During the discussion, the Minister emphasised the importance of ensuring that the Expropriation Act protects both the constitutional rights and supports the development of economic infrastructure, while also serving the public interest. “Through ongoing collaboration and open dialogue, we can shape a legislative framework that drives inclusive growth and creates sustainable job opportunities for all South Africans."

Earlier in the day, Minister Macpherson toured the NAMPO exhibition, alongside Deputy President Paul Mashatile, engaging with farmers and innovators while observing the latest developments in agricultural technology.

The exhibition showcased cutting-edge equipment, climate-smart farming solutions, and digital tools that are driving modernisation in the sector. During the exhibition, the Minister also held engagements with key agricultural organisations, focusing on infrastructure development, public-private collaboration, and rural economic growth.
