Deputy Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Sihle Zikalala, addressed congregants at the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in Mooikloof as a guest speaker, during a service that was held under the theme, “A Helping Hand.” He was welcomed by Pastor Dube and spoke about the importance of supporting and empowering young people in South Africa.
During his address, the Deputy Minister outlined government initiatives aimed at youth development, including bursaries, skills development programmes, and public-private partnerships. He explained that these initiatives are designed to create opportunities for young people to access education, training, and employment, helping to build a better future.

He emphasised that youth development remains a key government priority and called for stronger collaboration between government, communities, and organisations to support young people more effectively. He noted that collective action is essential to achieving lasting and meaningful change.
The Deputy Minister concluded by highlighting the important role that faith-based institutions can play in social development, stating: “The church has a great role in building society, more so when government is also involved in helping.”

His remarks underscored the importance of partnerships in addressing community needs and creating opportunities for future generations.
